A Message From the Pastor
Dear Members, Friends, & Partners:
Happy New Year! This is a great time to Praise the Lord and forget about all the negative things that may have happened last year. Time to let the past be the past, and do what the apostle Paul said, this one thing I do, I forget about the past, and look toward the mark, and that is the future. Do not dwell on the things that may have caused you trouble and worried you in the past. Draw a mark on the calendar this month and start new and fresh, because something good is going to happen to you and for you. Be in high expectation this year of God’s goodness being seen in your life in a greater measure than ever before. Praise God! Giving God the Glory!
I thank God for allowing Vernell and me to experience His goodness last year. Despite the many trials and test we faced last year, God proved his word. He promised never to leave us nor forsake us. We are so grateful.
Last year we outlined four points on where we believed God would help us to improve in 07. We are going to continue to build on those four points with the addition of the fifth point on change.
- Walking in the Love Relationship ( SOULS SAVED )
- Godly fellowship of and with the Body ( HEALTHY RELATIONS)
- Say, See, Do the Kingdom Principles ( NEW FACILITY )
- Living life in the fear of the Lord ( DOMINION / OBEDIENCE)
- Change
Examine your life. Can you honestly say you are heading in the right direction regarding the will of God for your life? Well, you don’t have to be in the dark any longer. God wants you to be filled with the knowledge of his perfect will and be fruitful ( or productive) in Life (Col 1:9-10 ) For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Years ago when I realized I was going in the wrong direction, I took the necessary steps to affect change in my life. I stopped fighting God, and began the process of change. Some of us want things to change overnight; unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. True lasting change requires following the process of change, and change is not change until you change. Beginning the process requires you to examine where you are to know where you are actually need to be. This is important because the greatest change you can make is with yourself.
There are several things that could have caused you to go in the wrong direction in life. Two that come to mind are making bad decisions and the other words you grew up hearing that programmed your thinking. You see child of God, words frame our world in a positive or negative way. That is why it is important to guard your intake and outgo of words. The words that we speak are life or death. The word says we can change through the transforming of our mind by the word of God ( Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God). Child of God there is a path to change that we can take, and it starts with our thinking. When we change the thoughts we are having by using the word of God to replace those thoughts we will get on the path to changing our decision making. When that changes we will make better decisions that will lead to better life results.
Start today changing your thinking by changing what you are hearing, and do it by using the word of God. We can make the change, just start with the little things as the word of God instructs us to, and we will soon become rulers over the big things in our life. It’s never too late to change.
We are grateful to the lord for you, and all that you do to make a mark in the lives of people in Shreveport, the surrounding areas and the world. Know that this ministry while we are doing the teaching the Word of God, you’re right there with us, doing your part through your tithes and offerings. THANK YOU! Remember that Jesus is Lord!...In all your getting, get understanding. ( Proverbs 4:7 )
In expectation
